Can we watch Satellite tv on our computer monitor?
My husband just purchased a Dell S2409W 24" HDMI LCD monitor and I am wondering if this is the type that we can use as a tv and a monitor. Under the "Connectivity" heading it says :
Digital Visual Interface - Digital (DVI-D) with High Definition Content Protection (HDCP) Video Graphics Array (VGA)
High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI)
It also comes with the DVI and VGA cables.
I would also be interested in knowing if we can connect it to a dvd player.

Yes you can, if your satellite TV company offers digital high-definition service.
Satellite service companies like Direct TV or Dish have digital HD receiver boxes available which has either DVI or HDMI outputs that you can connect directly to your S2409W.
The regular-definition satellite boxes don't have DVI or HDMI, so those won't work. If you don't have a digital HD satellite box, call your satellite TV service and upgrade.
As far as connecting a DVD player goes, buy a Blu-Ray player. Those have HDMI outputs and will work with your S2409W, and they can play both high-definition Blu-Ray discs as well as regular DVDs.
